The International Code Council Board of Directors has decided to establish a committee to explore and assess building safety and security.
Safety and security touch myriads of code regulations and having one committee in charge of it will not only make it more easier to follow but also easier to interpret for all parties involved.
“The committee’s goal is to provide comprehensive, sound, and valuable tools to guide local and state leaders as they work to keep all building occupants, including children and teachers in schools, safe from intruders and other life-safety hazards,” said ICC Board President Jay Elbettar, P.E., CBO, LEED AP, CASp.
Personally, we think this is one of the best things to outcome of safety and security talk in the last decade and we are excited to see how it shapes the future in construction for all parties involved.
